The voice of a cathedral

In February workers erected the bell tower of Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral. When the Cathedral is finished, the tower will house 50 bells, including the bell for Holy Name of Jesus Chapel bought by Servant of God Fr. Thomas F. Price.. The bells will range in size from 18 pounds to nearly a ton, and can be rung via a hand clavier, a mini-keyboard or a computer. The bells will be the Cathedral’s voice, calling the faithful to worship on occasions of joy and solemnity.

Meanwhile construction continues on the 160-ton dome of the Cathedral, which will be hoisted by a special crane and placed atop the roof in March. The photo below at right shows the inside of the dome, which workers are completing as far as possible before the structure is lifted from its building platform.
